Transport of vegetables or fruit such as cabbages or bananas up steep mountain slopes (Lane: 1986, 35-36).

A burden basket of the Ibaloi. Like the ballag and allataw of the Ifugao, this is exclusively for the Ibaloi women. It is a tall basket with a square base and body but a round mouth on top. It is meant to be carried in the back via rattan strap attached and worn in the forehead; the head supports the weight instead of the shoulders. Traditionally used to carry crops like potatoes, camote, and rice. (Anderson, 2010; Lane, 1986).
