On 8 March, International Women’s Day, the Museo Kordilyera celebrated the stories and the lives of Cordillera women through the repatriation of the photographs to the women and children subjects in the photographs. The exhibition, Itauli: Early 1990s Cordillera Women in Photographs was held from October 2023 to March 2024.
The highlight of the event was the handing over of the photographs to the women.
One of the photographers Marleen de Korver who was present, talked about her dream of going back to the Cordillera to visit the women and children she photographed 30 years ago. She is thankful to the Museo Kordilyera for the ITAULI project for making her realize her dream.
Joining the celebration were women activists and feminists from across generations, representatives from various NGOs, Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict from the St. Scholastica’s Convent, the UP Baguio community, and friends from the cultural and creative communities in Baguio City.
