MK Collection

The chuli/duli is a headdress made of snake vertebrae. Used exclusively by married Bontoc women, it is usually worn together with the fukas/bukas to secure their hair. Aside from serving as an ornament, the chuli/duli is also said to have healing powers and can serve as an amulet against spells, poisons, and evil spirits (Vanoverbergh 1929, 214-242).
