Object Name: Gibu/Gubu

L. 29.5 cm, W. 20 cm, H. 44.5 cm

Gibu or gubu is a “large fish trap set in the streams that water the Ifugao rice terraces. These traps are set with their conical mouths facing upstream so that fish will be carried into them by the current” (Hamilton, 1998, p. 116).
