Ifugao spoons (pakko/idu) are made of wood. Most pieces are plain and unadorned, but there are many spoons made distinctive by the motifs and design elements applied in carving them albeit functional considerations-spoons must be easily grasped-impose certain limits (Ellis 1981, 215).
