Jeff van den Broeck’s stoneware pottery shows his expertise in creating objects that are functional in a beautiful and harmonious way. His works convey a classical quality and a contemporary edge created by a masterful combination of art and science; of fine art and the potter’s craft.
Jeff works on his pottery at his studio-residence in Baguio City.
Born in Vosselaar, Belgium, he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (Belgium), trained with distinguished potters in the UK and Belgium, and earned a degree in design (with specialization in the art of pottery and ceramic design) at the Higher Institute for Visual Arts in Anderlecht, Brussels. He continues to attend pottery workshops in select places to train with a potter whose work he appreciates.
He has exhibited in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Philippines. In Baguio, he has joined a number of group shows at the Sanctuary Gallery, Maryknoll and in other art venues and had two solo exhibitions at the Bencab Museum. – (ERA)
